  1. What if our school does not have a Director of Guidance?
    The staff member at your high school who serves in the primary role for matters relating to college counseling should complete the online registration, and identify himself or herself as the Director of Guidance on the online registration.

  2. How long will it be until I receive a User ID and password?
    Approved users should receive these (in separate e-mail messages) within 5 business days from when the Director of Guidance completes the online registration process.

  3. What if the Director of Guidance forgets to include one or more staff members in the online registration?
    Once a Director of Guidance has been authorized by University of Iowa staff and receives a User ID and password, they will be able to add additional users for the school.

  4. How do I gain access to log in if the person(s) granted access to our school's Admission Status Report for First-Year Students no longer work at our school?
    Once approved, the Director of Guidance will be able to add new users for the school. If a counselor or other staff member with access leaves your high school, or if your school has a new Director of Guidance, contact Application Inquiry Services at 319-335-3847 to update our administrative records.

  5. I am not a counselor, but I work for the Director of Guidance and may be asked to research the Admission Status Report for First-Year Students for counselors in our office. Can I be granted access?
    Yes, the Director of Guidance will be able to add new users for the school.

  6. Can I print out our school's Admission Status Report for First-Year Students?
    Yes, but be advised that the printed version of the document also is protected as confidential under the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Only individuals with a "legitimate educational interest" in the information may be allowed to see the report.

  7. I am a parent. Why can't I see the Admission Status Report for First-Year Students affiliated with my child's high school?
    Iowa Reports is designed to help high school educators prepare their students for a future at The University of Iowa. In accordance with the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), information in the reports is confidential and available only to individuals with a "legitimate educational interest." The data contained in the report that relates to your child may be made available to you by your child, but The University may not disclose the entire report to you or anyone else without a "legitimate educational interest."

  8. What if I am affiliated with more than one high school? Do I have to log in separately for each school's Admission Status for First-Year Students report?
    No. The Director of Guidance at each school you are affiliated will need to request access for you separately. However, once you have been granted access for each school, you will see reports pertaining to all of these schools upon logging into the site with your User ID and password.
